Invitation to the cross-university lecture: “Benefits and limitations of existing research on emotions related to the climate crisis” by Bohuslav Binka

This talk will present the most interesting current research on emotional responses to the climate crisis, its benefits and limitations, and will attempt to present research perspectives that would provide insights into the long-term impacts of climate on the human emotions and soul. Implications for climate change education are discussed.

Lecturer: Prof. Dr. Mgr. Bohuslav Binka, Department of Environmental Studies, Masaryk University, Brno, Czech Republic

Bohuslav Binka is an environmental ethicist, philosopher and gestalt therapist with a focus on environmental grief. He is the author of the book monographs Environmental Ethics, Analysis of Deep Ecology, Green Extremism and Ciencias sagradas. He is currently interested in, among other things, what therapeutic tools increase psychological resistance and have the potential to motivate a person to take an active interest in the climate change topic.

The lecture will be in a hybrid format. It is possible to participate online as well as on site.
