1) Video instructions for 22 outdoor games in environmental education

Biology lessons often do not take place in nature, as many teachers believe that learning specialised content is more difficult due to the lack of traditional teaching aids (e.g. blackboard, worksheets). However, studies clearly show that encounters with nature contribute to both a higher level of specialised knowledge (knowledge of species, ecology, etc.) and a greater willingness to protect the environment. Therefore, these 22 videos aim to close the didactic material gap for all three teaching phases (introduction, development, backup) and thus motivate teachers to provide important outdoor lessons.

The videos are on average 1.5 minutes long and were created as part of Ms Melanie Huber's diploma thesis at the AECC Biology of the University of Vienna. We would like to thank Dr Gabriele Hrauda and her team colleagues from the "Umweltspürnasenclub" association for providing their collection of games and the students who took part in the film.
